Although this is an old picture, this is how I felt post-wedding; so exhausted that you could cover me with pillows and I wouldn't wake up. Once all of our family was out of town, I proceeded to sleep a LOT and not shower for a couple days. Sexy, I know. What follows in this post are the tidbits of life that's occurred during the past few months.
Homemade Eggs Florentine! Store bought english muffins; spinach sautéed with onions and finished with cream, poached eggs, and it's all topped with crispy speck.
We had bumble bees and butterflies come visit us in our plush little fire escape garden.
Josh's birthday: eating a quail leg and feeling like a giant; happy faces at Lillie's Bar .
Miss Merav Lahr's birthday, complete with a homemade lemon cake from Janelle. So good!
Crab legs! This simple meal is up there on my list of favorites. We picked up crab legs in Chinatown and steamed them with corn and red skin potatoes on the side(and plenty of Old Bay seasoning). David and Annie came over which gave us a chance to use all four of our adorable butter warmers from Crate and Barrel.
To put together our wedding hotel Welcome Bags, we went to Brooklyn to go to Brooklyn Larder. Inside this great meat and cheese shop, there are also many local treats. We picked up a variety of Mast Brothers Chocolate bars and McClure's Pickles Garlic Dill Pickle flavored potato chips. I wish I had taken a picture of the finished bags which were brown paper gift bags that also had local Honeycrisp apples, MTA Subway maps, and Perrier Jouet splits with mini St. Germain liqueur bottles. It almost made me wish we had done it for all the guests, but, alas, we're not millionaires. We had a great time putting those together as well as making two moss J's, pictured below.
Both J's eventually got covered with moss and we used these to mark the door of the wedding venue.
Last, but definitely not least, I had a glorious bachelorette weekend with my girlfriends on Fire Island. Despite doing a show in Patchogue three years ago, I had still never been there. On our Mondays off from the show, all of my cast mates would take the ferry to Fire Island to relax in the sun while I returned to my restaurant job in Manhattan so I wouldn't lose my health insurance. Sad, I know. Anyway, the ladies and I ending up crashing a wedding reception and after-party and a few of the ladies spent one of the mornings laying on the beach in a very hungover state. It was a definitely a weekend to remember!
On the ferry!

Merav, Annie, Me, Laura, Virginia, Stephanie, and Janelle. Some of my favorite ladies in the whole world!
Since the wedding, I've slept, worked, started a new knitting project, read some of the many magazines that have been piling up, hung out with friends, and adjusted who I follow on Pinterest from wedding things to non-wedding things which was, clearly, super important. It's been glorious!
